Costs and Questions
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance. However, I can provide a superbill. A superbill is like a receipt that can be given to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
What are your rates?
Sessions are 50 minutes. My rate for individual therapy is $150, and my rate for couples is $170. I offer sliding scale to individuals who qualify when I have availably. Money is hard to talk about, and I view it as an important part of therapy. I welcome any conversation, or concerns about my fees and aim to be open and transparent about my rates.
Where are you located?
I am currently only offering telehealth. I am licensed in Oregon and Texas and offer HIPAA complaint video sessions across both states.
Is Telehealth effective?
It depends! For many people, yes! I have found that a lot of folks find telehealth more effective because they can fully lean into the therapy session while they are in their home and do not have to drive home after. However, others find they struggle to fully "turn off" their brain when they are not in person. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy) is form of trauma therapy. This therapy uses eye movements to support the brain in healing from past trauma. I am EMDR certified. You can find more information here.
Do you use Ai?
I do not use Ai during sessions. I may use it outside of sessions for a worksheet but I do not use any kind of Ai note taking programs during sessions. While the platform I use for sessions (Simple Practice) does offer Ai note taking, I have declined all services due to concern for patient privacy.
What is a consultation?
A consolation is a no charge phone or video call we can set up to meet each other. In a consolation, I take 15-20 minutes to hear about what you are looking for in therapy. I then talk to you about my approach and how I work with your goals. We can also go over finances and scheduling. The goal of a consultation is to ensure we are a good fit for therapy. If we are, we can move ahead with scheduling. If not, I will do my best to provide appropriate referrals.
